i did break my wrist. i was floored that it was really broken. truly i was sure they were going to tell me i had mildly sprained it . Hum. i broke the radius bone in a nice clean break, and not all the way through the bone so that is a good thing or they would have had to pin it. what a crazy thing to have happened. how did it happen you ask? well, i was playing with one of my older sons, he was lying on the couch and i was pulling on his arm and he was pulling on mine....you know the old tug of war thing...anyway we slipped apart and i went flying backwards and as near as i can remember, i think i must have tried to catch myself and i landed with my hand under me, on the rocks that surround my wood stove. all of my, hummm, weight on my bent hand....it was to swollen to cast, but is in a hard splint. when it's in a cast, and my thumb is free, i will be able to do a lot more. you should have see the slice of bread i cut for dh's sandwich today...lol. it was a little thick on one end! the break doesn't hurt too much so that's a blessing i think. i am not much good at slowing down! lol. i think i may need to have a brown cast.....maybe it will show the painting, coffee, and wood staining and dirt less! LOL there is the promise of rain later this afternoon, that would be very welcome. have a great day everyone! ♥

mammograms.....................
My Sister sent this to me, and I thought it was a hoot. I sent it to all most everyone I could think of, including my SonIL, and decided I had to share it here! My DH did not enjoy it nearly as much as I did....lol....... Enjoy a laugh!
Open your refrigerator door and insert one breast in door. Shut the door as hard as possible and lean on the door for good measure. Hold that position for five seconds. Repeat again in case the first time wasn't effective enough.
Visit your garage at 3AM when the temperature of the cement floor is just perfect. Take off all your clothes and lie comfortably on the floor with one breast wedged under the rear tire of the car. Ask a friend to slowly back the car up until your breast is sufficiently flattened and chilled. Turn over and repeat with the other breast.
YOU ARE TOTALLY PREPARED!

don't you feel comforted now???

BTW......If you need me to come help you with the frozen bookends, give me a shout out! LOL (smiling here......)

http://www.spoolsewing.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/birdpattern1-1.pdf
This is my sewing project that I want to start today while LBC is researching his Social Studies project. What I have in mind are small little pillows stitched on linen, that will hang on a nob somewhere. These are both "freebies" also. The angel one is from Robin at http://birdinthehandprimitives-robin.blogspot.com/
and the americana is from Twigs at

Thanks you again Robin and Twigs for these "freebies" we all love to get them!
And lastly are my watermelon slices. I made myself a pattern and tried one.
before coffee stain.....
I think I like them. So I plan to make some wedge pieces to go with the slices. These will go in my old bucket on my front porch.
