who? me?

This is our little P-Jo, wearing 3-D specs ..... but the look on her face , matches my mood today! Shock! Panic! Unbelief!
I'm putting away my Christmas.... (enough said huh)
....and I'm wondering what to do with everything that used to be up........how did I get so many things? Really, Where has it all come from?
AHHHHHHHHH! I need a maid!!!!
As we start this remodel job, I am realizing just how much STUFF I really have and how much of it needs to GO! It kind a feels like taco salad. You know, you order it cuz it sounds soooo good, it comes and it's gynormous, and you eat away at it and it is good, but the more you push it around your plate with your fork, the more it grows, and then, by the time it's time to go, you put in your take home box more than what originally came on your plate ! LOL and just like the taco salad that I love, I love all my many treasures!Woman. Thy name is fickle.
Ugg! I'm a pack rat! (true confession)
Is there a pack rats anonymous out there? Tell me, is there some hope for people like me?
I guess it's time to load it up and take it back to the TS! LOL

BUT, I'm gaining! :-)
I know, I'm such a whiner.....So I'll stop and wish you all a good weekend.
See you back next week, and hopefully this old house will be less filled with so many "treasures" than it is now!
Wish me luck!
Enjoy your day.

I have the same malady, sugar. Never fear though as it gets better the older we get and especially when your kids tell you to sell it all or they'll put it on eBay for 99¢ and free shipping! They actually told me that.

We're heading down to Layton on monday for a wedding at the Bountiful temple. Can't wait to see it.

xoxo,
Connie

Good luck! I also confess to be a pack rat, I've already done three "dejunking's" to have the house in a state that I would feel okay to have strangers walk through it, and it still seems like I have a lot of stuff..I'm sure I will have several more of these cleaning sessions in the next four months as well! I am soo excited for your remodeling project, can't wait to see how it turns out. Love Caralee

Oh my friend; I am trying to become a reformed pack rat. I got rid of a lot when moving. Your little one is adorable. Look forward to seeing the remodling job!

I agree completely, my decoration storage room is exploding at the seams. In fact, we call it the "Fibber". There used to be a radio show called "Fibber McGee and Molly". Every time the characters on the show, would open their front closet, things would fall out. I never actually heard the show, but have heard about it. So our closet is called the "Fibber", because it's stuffed. Good luck, be strong! Love, Joy

I love the taco salad thing. I know exactly what you mean! I have the same problem. I have too much stuff but when I go to get rid of things I can't. I think it's because I'm afraid I'll get rid of the memories too?? I don't know. Lots of stuff so out of style. One thing about DI they throw away most of the Christmas stuff they get in Jan. If you want it to go to good homes you need to donate it in Aug. or the fall. They'll sell it then. So fun to do a remodel. Glad it's you and not me though. We're starting to finish our basement playroom. We sure need it when all the kids are here. Have a great week. Mimi

Mercy,

It's hard for me to get rid of stuff...too sentimental I guess! I did get all my Christmas stuff down and Jason got the privilege of putting it all back out in the garage! My house is bare now!

You asked about the waiting...I don't do waiting really well..... :) We do go today for our fingerprinting appointment which is the last thing we need for our dossier to be sent into China! Yay!

Blessings to you for a Happy New Year!

Tammy

Good luck on the renovation..almost two years ago we did an addition onto our house. We are so grateful for the extra room and feel very grateful that we have been able to do that, its so much fun and exciting, but wow its a project. Enjoy it!!!!!!

I am a packrat also. I decided last Monday that I was going to clean out and get rid of STUFF. I had collections of books from Gooseberry Patch and loved them but they took up so much space. I went through them page by page and scanned the pages that I thought I would like to look at later and placed them in a file on my computer. A friend is coming to take them and other things to Goodwill for me. I feel so good for right now. Ha! That space will probably filled up with something else soon.

I think after Christmas everyone feels like a packrat. It seems to be the natural order of things to clean out all the extra junk with the new year.

I think my stuff multiplies overnight in the closet, by the way. :) I have a room full of junk that I keep putting off cleaning out because I don't know where to start.
