hello to everyone out there! long time no see! we have been to the 18th century and back again...and are running in full swing! goodness! we have been freezing corn, bottling tomatoes, peaches and plums, and today i am making peach jam. i did 75 quarts of peaches, and 32 quarts of plums!

i know, that's only a drop in the bucket of the amounts i used to do when my family was young and all lived at home, but all the same i feel a silly amount of pride that i was able to get it done! we found out about an orchard in Neola, where a person can go and pick tree ripened fruit. which we did and it was. so yummy! trouble was, we picked on sat, and i didn't get around to preserving until tue. on dear, my peaches were very ripe and needing doing at once if not sooner! so i did them all the same day. very long day! :-) i'm telling you, the over 50 energy level isn't what it used to be! lol I still have more corn and tomatoes that need done, and we have a niece getting married up in Logan next week. however, i wanted to keep my finger in this pie and let you know i'm still alive and kicking. my next post will be my 100th. humm. next time i'll have giveaway news and some rendezvous pictures.

What are those things anyways? They look like my scones. Whatever they are they look YUMMY! How was Julie and Julia? I want to see it, but will wait for the DVD, cuz thats how I roll! You should have taken a picture of all your bottled fruit and put it on the blog,

Oh my, are we ever kindred spirits! Tuesday I spent the day doing 97 pints of salsa and I was whooped! I agree with what happened to all the energy I had when I canned over 500 jars of food a year to keep our little family going... Maybe it is the fifties energy level just ain't what it was while we soared in our thirties and forties!

It looks like yummy meat filled heaven! looking forward to the recipe!
I can't wait to go see Julia and Julie week!

Oh, I so want to get into canning when I have the equipment and the facilities! The pumpkin fudge was soo good. I didn't boil it long enough to it only set up about halfway, so we ended up with "spoon fudge" I will do better next time!

Looks like you guys had some great fun. I certainly understand about the no energy thing. I had waaaay more energy in my 40's for sure. I did can some of our green beans and made some jam but I'm certainly not in your league! This week I'll be making marinara sauce with our tomatos but it's gonna get put in the freezer. Much easier. I've seen those white plates at the dollar store too. I've been thinking I might go get $25.00 worth. I probably shouldn't, as I have sooo many dishes as it is. But I probably will. I'm so weak! Mimi
